The SPM ecosystem

More than a place to park.

SPM ECO brings the driver, parking facility and operator into one connected experience — from the first search to the final receipt.

For drivers

One mobile journey

A driver-only Flutter app for nearby parking, reservations, QR access, navigation, wallet, receipts and reminders.

For operators

One operational view

A separate Admin Web for facilities, bays, bookings, maps, tariffs, equipment health and operational reports.

Connected by one backend

One source of truth

Express services and PostgreSQL keep driver requests and admin changes consistent, with REST APIs and Socket.IO events.

Sri Lanka, in focus

Built around the way we travel.

Local language, understandable pricing and guidance through busy facilities — a practical introduction to smarter parking for Sri Lanka.

Local facility use casesSinhala • English • SinglishA facility-first pilot approach
01

Everyday journeys in Sri Lanka

Designed around city visits, work, shopping, hospital appointments and campus travel. Colombo, Kandy and Galle are examples of settings for a future pilot, rather than claimed live service locations.

02

Sinhala, English & Singlish

The documented assistant understands English, Sinhala script and transliterated Sinhala through rule-based intent and entity extraction. Drivers can ask about price, nearby parking, EV charging and their booking in familiar language.

03

Clear local pricing

An introduction centred on LKR pricing, visible hourly tariffs and a clear final receipt. Wallet and payment validation belong to the backend; this introduction website does not collect real payments.

04

A route to the exact bay

Outdoor guidance reaches the facility entrance. A mapped indoor graph then connects entries, exits, bays, floors and ramps, helping drivers understand complex mall, office and campus layouts.

05

QR as an entry alternative

QR and vehicle matching support the entry journey alongside the ANPR architecture. Camera integration needs testing against local plates, lighting and viewing angles before use at a real gate.

06

Start with one facility

A practical rollout starts with one mapped facility, verified tariffs and trained operators. Device GPS, fingerprint access, push delivery and entry hardware are checked in the pilot before expanding to more locations.

Transparent intelligence

Useful today. Ready to learn tomorrow.

The supplied technical audit separates working deterministic baselines from ML-ready architecture. No trained-model performance is claimed.

Recommendations, multilingual intent recognition, prediction and reporting use explainable rules or data aggregation. Vision pipelines need labelled data and validation before deployment.

About

A University Technology Challenge Competition Project

SPM ECO is a Sri Lankan university project exploring a complete parking ecosystem: a driver-only Flutter app, separate web administration, a shared backend and explainable intelligence.

The technical report documents working deterministic baselines and ML-ready vision pipelines, with a path toward real model training and facility pilots.

A few helpful answers

Understand the project before you explore.

Is this already a nationwide parking service?

This website introduces the SPM ecosystem. The report describes the broader Flutter/backend project and a production deployment target. It does not establish a nationwide live rollout or confirmed facility partnerships.

Are the AI models trained?

The supplied audit records ten baseline systems, two ML-ready vision pipelines and zero real trained models. Baselines use rules, utility scoring, lexicons or database aggregation. Measured ML accuracy is not claimed.

Does indoor navigation track my exact physical position?

Mapped shortest-path guidance and precise indoor positioning are different capabilities. The documented graph describes routes, floors and bays. reliable live indoor positioning needs separate hardware or positioning integration and field tests.

Will AI automatically change tariffs or block drivers?

Pricing recommendations require an administrator to approve or reject them. Anomaly results are review flags, not automatic punishment. Sensitive AI actions require confirmation before execution.

What must be tested before a facility pilot?

Verify physical Android fingerprint and GPS, push delivery, local plate/camera behaviour, equipment integration and payment reconciliation. Confirm two-way synchronisation: admin slot changes reach Flutter, and Flutter bookings appear in Admin Web.
